(Hello Little Cooks)
Bastille Day

Are French Fries really from France? If not then why are they called French Fries? Find out this month as we are off to France to celebrate Bastille Day.

On July 14, 1789, the storming of the Bastille (State Prison) by the people of France immediately took on a great historical dimension; it was proof that power no longer resided in the King as God's representative, but in the people. The revolution came to present liberty and the struggle against oppression. Bastille Day is the symbol of the end of the Monarchy (King) and the beginning of the First Republic.

The French are renowned for their love of food so this Clever Little Cooks Project includes a recipe for a delicious dessert of Profiteroles, a choux pastry, custard and of course chocolate. The second recipe will be enjoyed by all for a Sunday brunch combining two favourite ingredients of the French, eggs and cheese, a Quiche Lorraine.

You will learn the art of decoupage and make some beautiful gifts for your family and friends...or keep for yourself....so pop on your beret and come with us to the romantic country of France.
