Ramadan

Ramadan is the 9th month in the Islamic Calendar. It is the month that Allah first revealed the Qur'an (the Muslims' holy scripture) to the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).  During the month of Ramadan, Muslims don't eat or drink anything at all from dawn to sunset. This is called sawn and is one of the Pillars of Islam. Learn about what happens during a day of Ramadan and how it is celebrated.

This Clever Little Cooks Project contains information about the origins and beliefs of Islam, the Holy Places and Major Festivals. Our recipes are for traditional foods that are eaten to break the fast at sunset with a twist. We make a Banana and Date Loaf and Samboosak Triangles.
