Approximately 71% of the Earth's surface (361 million square kms) is covered by ocean. More than half of this area is over 3,000 metres deep. Did you know that Green Turtles can migrate more than 2, 250 kilometres to lay their eggs and a Blue Whale can grow to weigh the same as 50 adult elephants.
